Welcome to the XXVI Conference of Young Pharmacologists of the Italian Society of Pharmacology

Bologna, November 30th – December 2nd, 2025 In a time of rapid and transformative advances across all scientific disciplines — from biotechnology and artificial intelligence to personalized medicine and digital health — pharmacology stands at the heart of innovation in biomedical research. The development of safer, more effective and more accessible therapies is increasingly driven by interdisciplinary collaboration, advanced technologies and a renewed understanding of human physiology and disease. In this evolving landscape, young pharmacologists play a pivotal role. Their natural curiosity, openness to innovation, and capacity for fast learning and adaptation make them uniquely equipped to embrace and shape the future of pharmacological science. Investing in their development means investing in the future of healthcare.

We are therefore delighted to welcome you to the 26th edition of the Conference of Young Pharmacologists, organized by the Italian Society of Pharmacology. The event will take place in Bologna from November 30th to December 2nd, 2025. Our mission is to bring together a vibrant community of early-career pharmacologists, including postgraduate students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows and young investigators from across the pharmacological sciences. The conference aims to foster scientific exchange, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and support the professional development of young researchers, both in academic and non-academic sectors. This year’s scientific program will highlight key research areas, including:

• Neuropharmacology
• Cancer Pharmacology
• Cardiovascular and Metabolic Pharmacology
• Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology
• Pharmacoeconomics and Real-World Evidence
• Toxicology, Pharmacognosy, and Rare Diseases
• Inflammation and Immunopharmacology
• Basic and Translational Pharmacology

Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 conference will also introduce new and exciting opportunities:

• Mentorship sessions, offering direct dialogue between senior scientists and young pharmacologists
• Industry scouting events, connecting early-career researchers with companies involved in drug development, clinical trials, medical technologies, and regulatory science
• Live demonstrations of innovative research tools, showcasing cutting-edge techniques, platforms, and instrumentation at the forefront of pharmacological innovation

Participants will have the opportunity to present their research through oral and poster presentations, selected via peer-reviewed abstract submission. The program will also include plenary lectures, workshops on soft skills, career development sessions, networking opportunities, and thematic roundtables.

Organized by the SIF Early Career Pharmacologists Group (SIF-ECPG), the event will welcome up to 200 attendees. To foster international participation, all sessions will be conducted in English.
